What's new?

First of all, new design! Monito now uses a different font. When extracting logs instead of dialog, we use slide over, which looks better with more options. Not only extension design was improved, though, but Monito's website was also refreshed.

Buying Monito

Instead of Gumroad, Monito now integrates with Stripe. It gives me more flexibility and control over the checkout flow, UX, and pricing.

Monito now has proper privacy policy and terms of service.

Installation

If you've previously installed Monito manually, you should uninstall it and install it using the Chrome Web Store. This way, Monito will update automatically if there's a new version available. Also, this makes Chrome Web Store the single source of truth, no more manual installations, nor updates!

Extension

This version was all about improving UX, bug fixing, and cleaning up the code. TypeScript usage now helps with catching errors early and helps to maintain the code. I also changed the way Monito records your screen. Now, it uses native to extensions desktop capture API to record your screen. UX should be a bit better now.

What's next?

Now, I like how the extension looks, and I like the way it works. The next big thing is to improve UI related to logs themselves. Looking into the future, the next big thing is to upgrade Monito to use Manifest V3 instead of V2. Onward and upward!

As always, if you find something wrong or don't like new changes, please let me know!
